Current News

We hope you have had a chance to enjoy Riley the Brave with your staff and families! Over the last year, we’ve taken Riley the Brave to the next level. Introducing BraveBrains, a resource and training platform that empowers parents and professionals to be a source of healing for children who have experienced trauma.

Here’s what’s new:

  • FREE RESOURCES: We’ve added a host of free resources available at, in English and Spanish.
  • PARENTS CORNER: Visit our Parents Corner to find information specifically for families. Here’s a link to our free parent webinar, “It’s a Brain Thing!” Please pass it along to anyone in your network who might benefit from less frustration and more connection at home!
  • DISCOUNTS ON BULK ORDERS: We want this book in the hands of people who need it, so we offer a big discount on bulk orders. Agencies across the country have started incorporating the book and materials in their training programs, groups, and community outreach after seeing what an impact Riley Bear can have. Please reach out to Brittney Harmon (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to place your large orders. I’ve cc-ed her on this email for your convenience.
  • AWAKENING ATTACHMENT: Upcoming free webinar for adoption, kinship, and foster care professionals working with families that are stuck in the cycle of defense and mistrust. Be sure to register here and join us March 10, 2020 at 12pm EST.
  • WORKSHOPS: Click here for upcoming events. Interested in bringing BraveBrains to your organization or a conference near you? Please contact Melanie Winters (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), who is also cc-ed on this email.

I hope you’ll join Jessica for the free webinar on March 10th. In her characteristic style mixing humor, science, and practical application, you and your team will walk away with more tools for your toolbox on this difficult journey of helping kids and families heal.

We know you’re busy, and we’re here to help! Knowing how deeply trauma affects the brain, we are honored to play a small part in renewing hope for a bright future.
