Mental Health: Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the U.S.
There are two types of fentanyl: pharmaceutical fentanyl and illegally made fentanyl. Both are considered synthetic opioids. Pharmaceutical fentanyl is prescribed by doctors to treat severe pain, especially after surgery and for advanced-stage cancer.
However, most recent cases of fentanyl-related overdose are linked to illegally made fentanyl, which is distributed through illegal drug markets for its heroin-like effect. It is often added to other drugs because of its extreme potency, which makes drugs cheaper, more powerful, more addictive, and more dangerous.
Stay tuned for SUD related trainings.

Weekly Tip: Let’s take a moment to embrace the spirit of Santosha in our lives. Santosha teaches us to find contentment and peace in what we have and where we are in our journey. It’s about appreciating the present and finding joy in the simplicity of being. As we go about our day, I encourage you to pause, breathe, and acknowledge the beauty in the small things, the lessons in challenges, and the growth in everyday experiences. Remember, happiness is not in having more, but in being grateful for all that we already possess. Let’s cultivate a heart of gratitude and contentment, for it is there that true peace resides. Stay Mindful, Chanda
