Keeping Up with Kates Club

“10 SPRING-INSPIRED IDEAS FOR GRIEVING”

Each season has its unique challenges for people grieving a death. If you’re grieving right now, it might feel like the world is blooming with the change of the seasons, and you’re left behind with all the complicated feelings of grief.

You should be honest about how you feel and process it in your own way. The article “10 Spring-Inspired Ideas for Grieving a Loss” provides some activities that can help you process your grief during this season. Read the article here.

On Saturday, May 13, 2023 we will celebrate the 20th Anniversary Mourning Glory Gala, and honor the more than 10,000 families, volunteers and professionals we have empowered since 2003.

The Mourning Glory Gala is a premier annual event with over 400 corporate, professional and community leaders in attendance. The evening features a cocktail reception, silent and live auction, dinner, live entertainment and an even livelier dance floor!

Individual tickets are $350 and Tables of 10 are $3,000. Tickets are selling fast! Purchase yours today to make sure you don’t miss out on this exceptional evening! Please email Courtney Krygiel with any questions!

THANK YOU TO OUR 2023 GALA SPONSORS

We are in need of many volunteers for the morning of and evening of Gala! Our Gala volunteers have just as much fun as our guests. If you are interested in signing up for a shift to volunteer, please click here.

Ashley’s Grief Story

Ashley joined our Board of Directors in 2023, but the journey that led her to our mission started long before then. In this blog post, Ashley shares her personal grief story and why volunteering at Kate’s Club is important to her. You don’t want to miss it. Be sure to read Ashley’s post if you haven’t yet!

Congratulations, Dalvin!

Congratulations to Dalvin Tomlinson on joining the Cleveland Browns! Dalvin is famous for his talent on the football field, but here at Kate’s Club he’s also the 2019 Spirit of Kate’s Club Gala Honoree! Barry Shuck of DawgsByNature writes on Dalvin’s career and the life journey that led him to where he is today — including his grief story and work with Kate’s Club.

THANK YOU TRINITY SCHOOL OF ATLANTA!

Thank you Trinity School for hosting our 2023 Parent/Caregiver Conference! Parents and caregivers enjoyed a day of sharing and learning on the topic “Helping Our Children and Helping Ourselves” through grief, which lines up with our March programming theme “I’m Worth It!”

And while parents and caregivers attended sessions, our members and buddies got up to some fun of their own, all set up in the Trinity School gym by their amazing volunteers. Thank you, Trinity School!

FAMILY NIGHT IN ALBANY, BRUNSWICK AND NEWNAN!

Since February, we have hosted our first Family Night program in Albany, Brunswick and Newnan. These programs bring grieving families together for support, connection and fun. We would love to have more families join us for these new programs, so if you know someone who may be interested, be sure to spread the word! Those interested can contact us at info@katesclub.org for more information about programs and membership.

WE’RE HIRING!

Kate’s Club is seeking an Online Community Manager & Content Strategist to play a critical role in ensuring our digital platform, Kate’s Hub, is as valuable, connective, and compelling as possible. We will always recognize the benefit of in-person grief support, but we also know some grievers are unable or unwilling to reach a physical destination for in-person programs. Kate’s Hub is an online community that scales the impact the organization can make.
