Service Description

PINK Diamonds stands for Powerful, Inspiring, Notable and Knowledgeable.  We serve ALL girls 4th-8th Grade.  Our program is great for Foster and Adoptive girls because it teaches them to overcome the daily challenges they face.  It also teaches them to accept their circumstances and move on to become successful adults.

Our program meets once a week for 2 hours.  The girls participate in Community Service projects at least once a month.  Our program gives the girls an opportunity to "LET IT OUT and LET IT GO.  We help build self confidence through helping others.  We deal with bullying rather they are being bullied or being the bully, we help girls make better decisions because they believe in themselves and are confidence of who they are and will become.

We also have incentives and field trips that help the girls push harded to accomplish their goals.

Positive attitudes are demanded in our program. In 2014, 78% of our girls demonstrated awareness and increased knowledge when it came to negative behavior and making bad decisions.  These girls were a part of the Dear DIVA program, which is a program for High School Girls.  Girls in this program graduated from High School with no pregnancies and 80% graduated from or are still attending colleges such as Wake Forest, Albany State and Vanderbilt.

15 years as a Foster Parent.  150 plus children have come through my home either short-term and some long term...Teen Girls were my favorite because when they left I knew if I had made a difference and felt that I had save or changes a life.

I was never a Foster Child but I have faced a number of issues some Foster Children face such as sexual abuse, lack of self confidence, obesity, physical abuse, drug addiction by a family member which kept me FAR away from alcohol and drugs.
