September is National Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month – Suicide Prevention Month Week 2: Crisis Support, Treatment Options, and Resources to Help if You or Someone You Know Have Thoughts of Suicide

This week of Suicide Prevention Month, we are focusing on crisis support and treatment. Suicide is preventable. And it’s important to reinforce that help is available and recovery is possible. This Suicide Prevention Month, and throughout the year, we encourage you to join the dialogue and help raise awareness about the importance of suicide prevention. You can start by reading the Center for Mental Health Services Director Dr. Anita Everett’s Blog: No Judgment. Just Help: What You Can Do to Support Suicide Prevention Month Efforts.

How You Can Help.

SAMHSA aims to increase public awareness surrounding mental health and addiction recovery. In the years since Recovery Month launched, SAMHSA has timed announcements of initiatives and grant funding during Recovery Month, while collaborating with private and public entities to celebrate individuals during their long-term recoveries.  Use the link to access the toolkit: https://www.samhsa.gov/recovery-month/toolkit

Each one of friends have a diverse background and brings a unique aspect to every situation you have or had been dealing with. Everyone is attentive, respectful, interacting, and transparent during discussion time so much so everyone loses track of time. The café owner approaches to the table and politely states “it’s closing time” and everyone looks at each other in disbelief and says “already”. As everyone is saying their goodbyes a feeling of renewal and refreshing overshadows them and now everyone is looking forward to their next get together.
