Play Therapy
Play therapy is counseling for children ages 3-11. Play therapy is an evidenced based, developmentally appropriate approach to helping children learn how to confront their challenges and develop new coping skills through their natural language of play. Each session takes place with a trained therapist in a playroom equipped with toys and supplies designed to promote self-expression and healing. We have therapists who specialize in working with life adjustments, trauma, autism, anxiety, depression, and other challenges your child may be facing.
Adolescent Therapy
Adult Therapy
Adult therapy is counseling for individuals 18 years of age and older. This can consist of talk therapy or other modalities in which our therapists may be trained. We have counselors who use a variety of modalities, including but not limited to Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and more. We help you set goals for your time in counseling and use these modalities and other therapeutic techniques to assist you in reaching those goals.
Couples Therapy
Group Therapy
Group therapy is a type of counseling where a therapist leads a small group of people through psychoeducation, processing, and healing around a common issue. The group meeting is a safe place for all participants where they can share their thoughts and feelings and find trust and support from the therapist and other participants in the group. This kind of therapy also gives them the opportunity to support others going through a similar situation.
Family Therapy
Parenting Support
Parenting support is a type of therapy that works with caregivers to help them address difficult moments in parenting. The goal of this type of therapy is to provide parents and other caregivers with knowledge, emotional support, encouragement, and new parenting strategies. This gives parents the opportunity to discuss their struggles with an unbiased, nonjudgmental party and to have guidance in making adjustments at home that might work for the needs of their child.
Eating Disorder Support
When recovering from disordered eating habits or an eating disorder, having a team to support you through the recovery is so important. We have a team of clinicians trained in helping clients walk through Eating Disorder recovery for adolescents and adults. Along with individual therapy, we provide experiential sessions and meal support, and we will work closely with your team of dietitians and medical professionals to make sure you get the best care possible. Recovery is possible, and you do not have to do it alone.
Trainings
Connected Counseling and Wellness can offer trainings in a variety of topics. These trainings are designed to pass along knowledge and skill development to clients, counseling professionals, parents, and individuals looking to increase their knowledge of healthy living. We hope to share practical information to support and inspire others, whatever their goals may be. Sample topics include Counseling and Neuroscience, The Therapeutic Relationship, Gentle Parenting, A Brief Introduction to Internal Family Systems, and Eating Disorder Recovery.
Supervison
Supervision with a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) is required for all newly graduated therapists. In order to obtain licensure, therapists must have two years of supervision with a CPCS who monitors developing counselors, aids them in supporting their clients, and helps them hone their therapeutic skills through regular, honest, and supportive feedback. Supervision is both a requirement for licensure as well as an ethical expectation for the profession. At CCW, we have three Certified Professional Counselor Supervisors available for supervision.
