David Quilliams, Adoption Attorney
David Quilliams has over 15 years of experience as a litigator in the Atlanta-Athens area. Prior to joining the firm, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Georgia in Rockdale, Newton, and Barrow counties. As a prosecutor David spent many hours and evenings outside the courtroom on “ride-alongs” with police officers, deputy sheriffs, and State Troopers and takes great pride in having instructed members of law enforcement during their training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia. Over the course of his prosecutorial career, David obtained extensive trial and litigation experience inside the courtroom involving felonies and misdemeanors, including juvenile court matters, traffic offenses, drug cases, domestic violence, theft, obstruction, DUI, vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, arson, and other major felonies. In addition to criminal defense, David’s litigation practice includes family/domestic law matters of divorce, child custody, adoption, grandparents’ visitation, and general civil litigation matter including dispossessory actions, protective orders, minority shareholder actions, and other areas of general civil litigation.
David focuses the knowledge, experience, and talents he has gained over the years towards obtaining favorable results for his clients. David also endeavors to educate his clients on each step of the legal process, civil or criminal, to provide context and preparedness for them along the way. David is a member of the Western Circuit Bar Association, the Family Law and Criminal Law sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and his law degree from Georgia State University. Outside of the office David has been a high school and college football official since 2005. David and his wife Barbara have four amazing children and attend St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Jefferson, GA.
