Prevention Workshops
Jewels also receive assistance with applying to colleges & universities and with applying for Financial Aid and Scholarships.
This portion of the program runs from September to May to coincide with the academic year.
Field Trips/Community Service
Jewels are taken on trips that support the topics they discuss, as well as Cultural and Recreational trips, one Saturday a month, during the academic year to allow the girls to be exposed to the culture of the Atlanta area and surrounding states.
Educational and recreational trips are taken to places such as museums, musicals, local professional sports games, etc.
Some of the field trips are Community Service oriented to allow the Jewels opportunity to give back to the communities they live in and around. We also expose the girls to different career paths by allowing them to spend time in the lives of lawyers, doctors, accountants, teachers, bankers and entrepreneurs.
Graduation/Debutante Cotillion
Jewels who have successfully participated in Ladies In Waiting, prepare for a Debutante Cotillion, during senior year of High School.
During the Cotillion Program, Jewels are recognized for the commitment to Ladies In Waiting by receiving a scholarship to assist in their costs for college. Amounts of the scholarship vary from year to year based on the number of Jewels who have completed the program and the availability of scholarship funds.
The Cotillion is held annually in May prior to the end of the school year.
