About Course

The US Department of Health and Human Services defines abuse and neglect as any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation; or an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk or serious harm. There are 3 million reports of child abuse made in the US each year and more than 5 children die a day as a result of child abuse.  This webinar will educate foster parents on how to keep their child safe in the home and in the community.  Foster parents will also learn different warning signs to keep their child safe from child sexual abuse-victimization and perpetration.  Having a better understanding of child abuse, victimization and perpetration will encourage healthy sexual development with their child.
