While foster care may be considered a risk factor for the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), it is also a critical part of the solution to support these youth and their caregivers. Learn more about the intersection of foster care and CSEC, including risk factors, challenges, and successful engagement strategies of youth and caregivers in mental health treatment. Explore ways foster care providers can lead the charge in developing creative solutions, including specific program efforts underway in Atlanta to train and support foster parents.

It was a very good match for me because I have experience this with my niece. She was 12 years old at the time in my home and she was used to running away and dealing with older guys, but I had no experience of how to address her problem. I did the best I know how the way I handle it. It will make her very upset with me. She will tell lies to try to get me in trouble about my children because the fact that I didn’t want her to be on the streets and to be involved with older guys, but it turned all good. She is in her 30s now. She called me about two years ago and apologized to me how she lied and tried to get me in trouble and she told me she realized that all I was doing is trying to help her and keep her safe she ended up going to prison. She’s out now and doing well for herself thank God.

This training was very informative and open our eyes & mind to the alarming rate of sexual exploitation of children. Ms. B was exceptional in advocating and meeting the needs of k. Setting boundaries as well as having the discussion of pros & cons of her actions & reasons for the runaways with consequences. Great Training!
Great course. It's sad to have to hear about these things but this course helps in educating about youth sexual exploitation.

This course or presentations were such an eye opener for adults who are practically not aware of some of the exploitations that teenagers are children are going through the hands of adults. Children may have unfortunate experiences but it is so wrong to spoil the lives of these children.
