Research has revealed that during a traumatic experience, your brain goes into a heightened state of stress & fear-related hormones get activated. When a child is exposed to abuse and/or neglect, their developing brain can remain in this heightened pattern. These traumatic experiences can have significant impacts on a child’s emotional/mental health and future behavior.
