Breaking down barriers and facilitating connection with your LGBTQ foster children
About Course
Being in the foster care system is inherently challenging for any child, but for LGBTQ children and teens, these challenges can be compounded by additional layers of stress, confusion, and vulnerability. As a foster caregiver, it’s crucial to create an environment that fosters safety, acceptance, and understanding. This means not only being open-minded and affirming but also actively educating yourself about the experiences of LGBTQ youth. This workshop will help ensure that your home is a safe space where your LGBTQ kids can express themselves freely without fear of judgment.
