What’s in Your Trauma Toolbox?
About Course
Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that can affect a child’s brain development, which could potentially compromise their ability to trust, connect and thrive. Understanding how trauma impact children is the gateway to providing the necessary support that a child need. It is safe to say that “all” children that enter into foster care have experienced some form of trauma. So with that being said, it is critical that foster and adoptive parents have a toolbox of skills and technique to help the children in their home. This webinar will give parents some techniques on how to provide support to a child that has been exposed and or impacted by a trauma.

Every foster parent needs to understand what ACE means, how it relates to children and adults. As parents we might not have been trained or knowledgeable about how our own traumatic experiences affected us because we had no therapy, therefore, how can we help a traumatized child. I am very grateful for this information and how I can apply the training to child(ren) and myself.
This course explained to me a deeper understanding of where trauma can com from and that many don't understand simple things can still have an adverse affect on a child's development.
Very informative and helpful, thank you!
