Kristen utilizes a culturally sensitive and trauma focused approach along with evidenced based mental health interventions in the areas of child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Campbellsville University with a clinical area of focus, is a licensed master social worker and working towards her Georgia clinical social work license. She is pursuing the three-year process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist with post graduate training, clinical experience, and supervision. Kristen obtains supervision from Lindsay Bottoms.
Kristen serves clients starting at the age of two through adulthood. Kristen’s therapeutic work is based on a holistic person-centered approach, healing the whole person from the inside out with focused interventions such as child centered play therapy, Autplay therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, family systems therapy and child and adolescent development. She is passionate about empowering her clients with the confidence and skillset to work through all of life’s challenges. Kristen’s experience and practice areas include: children adults and families with various mental health needs including ADHD, trauma, anxiety, crisis intervention, grief, divorce and co-parenting, homelessness, parent coaching, psychological first aid, difficulty regulating emotions, as well as advocating for children and their families and collaborating with school and community agencies. Kristen’s future goals include pursuing EMDR training in the summer of 2023.
