About Course

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is common in children in the foster care system. 73-83% of children with FAS are in foster care or adoptive placement. FAS is often times under or misdiagnosed because it looks so much like ADHD. This workshop will give parents the knowledge and skills that they will need to understand and better advocate for their child in the community and at school because parenting a child with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome can be extremely challenging, overwhelming and lonely for parents. This workshop will help parents understand their child’s behaviors, symptoms and how they can better support their child socially, emotionally and academically.
