In this special edition, we’re sharing a range of summer programs for youth happening right here in DeKalb County. From camps and creative workshops to paid internships, job training, and community programs — there’s something for every age, interest, and experience level.

You’ll find options that support learning, spark creativity, build life skills, and create space for fun. Whether it’s your child’s first summer camp or their first paid work experience, these programs are designed to keep young people active, engaged, and growing.

Upward Bound (GSU Perimeter) – College Prep Summer Program

Georgia State’s Perimeter Academy offers students a great opportunity to get accepted into the university and get ahead with a strong foundation.

Space in the Perimeter Academy is limited to a select number of participants, so don’t delay!

All applicants to Perimeter College are considered for Perimeter Academy. No separate application is necessary.

Summer Meals for Kids

DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs is offering free summer meals for kids up to age 18 from June 2 – July 18, 2025.

This program helps make sure children stay nourished while school is out.

The deadline to submit summer applications is May 16, 2025

Free Summer Meals for Kids — DeKalb County School District

DeKalb County School District (DCSD) is once again offering free breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18 and under through its Seamless Summer Feeding Program. Meals will be available June 1–July 31, Monday through Friday, at schools hosting summer classes — no registration or eligibility required.
