Welcome to Neverland Adaptive Aquatics! We are Georgia’s premier Adaptive Swim Program designed specifically for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. Did you know that drowning is a leading cause of death for children with Autism and other disabilities? Why is this statistic so high? Children are naturally draw to the water, especially those with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other sensory process disorders, but they can often underestimate the risk of an accident occurring. This is why Neverland Aquatics was born; to provide students with special needs and their parents the knowledge and skills to safely enjoy the water.
Our Adaptive Aquatics program is exactly what it says, Adaptive! Regardless of your student’s disability, all of our Adaptive Lessons are completely individualized based on need. Most of our first time swimmers begin with a basic program where they learn swimming independently, floating, and treading water. Our more experienced swimmers can begin with adaptive stroke instruction, swim team, or fitness classes improving their motor planning, coordination, and efficiency in the water. Whatever the level of your student, we can design a program to meet their individual needs.
All of our instructors are educated both in and out of the water and have a passion for working with exceptional people. We are Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and trained in Adaptive Aquatics. Our Adaptive Aquatics program developer, Kristie Snape, is a Master’s Level Special Education Teacher with over 18 years of experience working with students with disabilities. She personally trains each of our instructors, so you can be sure your student is receiving top notch instruction. You won’t find any teenagers working a summer job here; teaching aquatic skills is our career and our passion! We offer private one-on-one lessons, semi-private classes, and adapted group classes for children, teens, and adults with special needs. Whatever your age or swimming level, Neverland Adaptive Aquatics can help your student succeed in the water. We invite you to discover the difference with Adaptive Aquatics and give your student the gift of a lifetime of swimming!
