Dear Caregivers,
I hope you and your families are doing well.
It is with a heavy heart that I write to share some difficult news. Families First was recently informed that the Department of Human Services (DHS) has made the decision to terminate the Georgia Center for Resources and Support (GACRS) contract. Effective July 1, 2026, post-adoption services will no longer be provided through GACRS.
For more than 22 years, the Georgia Center for Resources and Support has had the honor of walking alongside adoptive, foster, kinship, and guardianship families throughout Georgia. Supporting and serving families like yours has been at the heart of our mission, and this transition represents a profound loss for our organization and team.
At the same time, we remain deeply grateful to DHS for the opportunity to carry out this meaningful work over the years. Most importantly, we are sincerely grateful to each of you for your trust, your openness, and the opportunity to be part of your family’s journey. It has been a privilege to support such resilient, compassionate, and dedicated caregivers.
Our greatest hope is that you and your families will continue to receive the care, support, and resources you need during this transition and in the years ahead. Please know that the strength, love, and commitment you pour into your children and families every day truly make a lasting difference.
As we prepare for this transition, please note that the GACRS website will no longer be available after June 30, 2026. We encourage you to take advantage of the live and on-demand trainings currently available. We also encourage you to download any training certificates and explore the resource library while access remains available.
Thank you again for allowing us to walk alongside you over the years. Serving your families has been both an honor and a privilege.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The GACRS Team
